Star City Agility Team, Inc., located in Lincoln, Nebraska,
was formed in 1994 to promote agility training and competition
in the Midwest. Our members also train and show in Obedience,
Tracking, Herding, Conformation, Flyball, Rally, Weight Pulling, and Water Sports. At
this time, SCAT offers AKC, CPE, NADAC and UKC agility trials.
We offer agility, obedience and weight pulling classes to the public and to
our members. Our members have earned many, many hundreds of
agility/ obedience/flyball/herding/conformation/ rally/tracking titles in
the intervening years.
We sponsored the 4-H youth dog club for ten years, allowing them the
free use of our equipment and facility. Currently, our junior member is
the only junior in town to have earned agility titles.
To this day, SCAT members have dominated the agility scene in
Lincoln, winning huge numbers of titles from novice to championships
in six different organizations and offering our members and students
the best instruction and facility for training in the city. Our
trainers have the finest credentials and talent in this city.
We have the area's top instructors and competitors among our club
members. Currently included in our membership are three AKC agility
judges, two UKC agility judges, one USDAA agility judge, one NADAC
agility judge, three CPE agility judges and one UKC obedience judge,
with many more members currently participating in the judging
apprenticeship program.
SCAT currently offers AKC, CPE, NADAC and UKC trials and we encourage
those who are truly interested in participating to the best of their
ability, no matter if that ability is for a championship or just to
earn legs and/or titles, or just to enjoy themselves. We also
encourage our members to cross train in any and all dog sports.
When we organized SCAT, our intention was not to have a large
membership who were not active in the sport, but instead to keep
it small and active and fun. We understand that agility training
takes time and dedication and that few trainers are capable of
devoting the time and energy to this sport and the club. We
encourage those who are truly interested in participating to the
best of their ability.
We are dedicated to progressing our training knowledge for ourselves
and our dogs. Our quest is for constant improvement in our training
skills, abilities and simply having fun in the process.
